Robert’s 1967 Coronet 440 – 2dr HT
This 1967 Dodge Coronet Model 440 2 DR. HT was originally purchased from Lake City Dodge Inc. in Seattle, Washington by Mr. R.R. Brown, Seattle, Washington on April 26th, 1967. The car was purchased from the original owner on July 20th, 1990 with 90,360 miles on the odometer. The car had been in storage since 1980. The condition of the Dodge was excellent, probably a good #3 at the time. The car showed very little signs of deterioration. It was a total rust free car and was shown at local car shows in 1990 and won trophies for the best unrestored, B Body Stock and Best Mopar, with the only restoration being a polish & wax job.
In the spring of 1991, I decided to repaint the car which is Chrysler ZZ-1 Gold Metallic, a very difficult color to match from the paint code, after 7 tries we finally got it right. The Dodge is Base Coat/Clear Coat with four coats of clear. The paint was applied by Guy Tofsrud of Country Collision and Restoration of Red Deer and has won awards for best paint. The only interior restoration was a new carpet, the old black had faded over the years. The car is matching numbers and still has the original black vinyl top and vinyl upholstery. The only option added to that did not come with it, is a set of Reproduction Chrysler Road Wheels, installed in 1992. In 1996 when the car turned 100,000 miles, the power train was rebuilt, Motor, Transmission and Rear End.
The Coronet comes with a 383 Power Plant, 727 Torqueflite Transmission and 3:23/1
Sur Grip 8-3/4 Rear Differential . This Car has won many trophies over the years at Mopar and Non Mopar events. The Coronet has also won two first places at Power Rama in Edmonton.
